Microsoft Office 365 University set to hit shelves in 2013

The first quarter of 2013 will see new offering from software giant Microsoft; namely Office 365 University. Late last week, the company released an update about the new product, saying that it will be loved by higher-education students.

Office 365 University is set to be sold in 52 markets around the world and at retail locations as well. The new release will include Office’s usual components such as PowerPoint, Word, OneNote, Outlook, Access and Publisher. Moreover the tech bigwigs stated that the offer includes 20 GB of SkyDrive cloud storage and 60 minutes of Skype world talk time every month.

Microsoft mentioned that students who are eligible to buy Office University for Mac 2011 or Office University 2010 will go on to get a free subscription to Office 365 University when it is released. Earlier this year, the Office Professional Academic 2010 SKU was replaced by Microsoft Office University 2010 by the company. The older Microsoft Office Student and Home are recommended for K-12 students and their parents; however the newer release is aimed at higher-education students.

The pricing for the new product is set for $79.99 for a four year subscription, working out to $1.67 per month for a user.
