Gaming tablet manufacturer Wikipad is making a tablet with a controller add-on shell. The device will feature analog sticks and buttons. The company announced on June 4, 2013, that the retailers will begin selling the 7-inch device, which will be known as Wikipad, on June 11, 2013 for $249 in the US and UK market.
The new device by Wikipad is based on Android and is powered by a Tegra 3 quad-core mobile processor. Features of the tablet include a 7-inch capacitive touchscreen, 16 GB of flash storage with a lightweight chassis, two-megapixel front camera, HDMI output and 12-core Nvidia graphics processing unit.
The device also has an access to more than 700,000 apps on Google Play store from Google Mobile Services, TegraZone and PlayStation Mobile games. Moreover, when the gamepad controller is detached, the device can be used for surfing the web, watching movies, emailing or listening to music.
