HTC announces the launch of Butterfly S smartphone

Mobile phone manufacturing giant HTC has announced the successor of its Butterfly handset, even though it is not a very old smartphone to begin with. The new Butterfly S is a 5-inch handset which resembles the HTC One, though it is built slightly bigger than HTC One.

By the looks of it, it seems that the new device will be a great improvement over the original Butterfly. The device is powered by Android Sense 5 with Qualcomm Snapdragon 600, quad-core and 1.9 GHz. The screen features a 5-inch Full HD 1080p, 440PPI and Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The smartphone also has a 16 GB of internal storage with microSD card for up to 64 GB of additional storage.

The device has dual front-facing BoomSound speakers with Beats Audio, 3200mAh battery and connectivity features like Wi-Fi, 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac and Bluetooth. The smartphone is an impressive device, especially when it comes to its battery. The company is also introducing the BoomSound speakers to more devices.

The Android version running under Sense 5 is not clear right away, but the Butterfly S will have software features like Zoe, Blinkfeed and Beats Audio. The smartphone will be launched in July 2013 and will hit the American market soon.
