Amazon and Asda announce Xbox One price cut in UK

UK-based retailers Amazon and Asda have announced a price cut of Microsoft’s Xbox One console. It has been reported that both retailers are offering the next-gen console with Titanfall for £349. The supermarket chain is selling the PlayStation 4 consoles for the same price as before, while the online retail giant is offering Sony’s next-gen console for £344.65.

US-based tech giant Microsoft introduced the Xbox One price cut in the UK on February 28, 2014. The popular device was released on November 22, 2013 and was priced at £430, so the estimated UK price of the Xbox One is £399.99. Marketing director of Xbox UK, Harvey Eagle said that the Xbox One sales topped three million units between the launch of the console and the end of 2013.

Meanwhile, Microsoft’s main rival Sony claimed that worldwide sales of its PlayStation 4 reached six million units as of March 2, 2014. Later, the US arm of Microsoft also introduced a price cut to its Xbox One across its full line of available hardware bundles and can be now purchased for $449.99.

At the beginning of this week, Microsoft launched the latest Xbox One system update in order to preview participants before the main launch, which is set for the second half of April 2014.
