If the plan becomes a success then it will be stepped up by Google towards competition with the traditional telecom carriers.

For the citizens of the cities it can also mean an increased reliance on services by the dominant internet company. The search engine has did not answer certain specific questions about the plans but in an email statement it said, “We’d love to be able to bring Wi-Fi access to all of our Fiber cities, but we don’t have any specific plans to announce right now.”

The search engine is also asking the cities to identify the locations so that it can install the utility huts, Every hut will be a windowless 12 foot by 30 foot and need to have a 24 hour access and be on land which the company can lease for about 20 years.
