Swatch to launch smartwatch to make up losses

Switzerland based manufacturer of luxury watches, is all set to launch internet enabled smartwatch so as to increase the sales and improve falling profits. The upcoming smartwatch by Swatch will include features like mobile payment function and will also provide a good boost to the company in terms of sales.

Swatch is looking forward to increase its sales by increasing prices and reduce the making costs in 2015 so as to deal with the fallout from spike in its home currency. Analysts have predicted that the upcoming device from Swatch will provide a good boost in terms of sales for the company and will face competition from Apple’s internet enabled watch which is due to be launched later in 2015.

Nick Hayek, the chief executive officer of Swatch said that it has been contributing components to many of the major companies in the smart watch industry for some time. Hayek added, “So you can imagine that our brands and consumers will benefit from this know-how in 2015”.

Apart from the announcement of the smartwatch, Swatch has also announced other measures to deal with the financial issues of the company. The company has increased the prices of some watches including its Omega, Breguet and Blancpain.
