Facebook to bring social network to virtual reality apps

Social networking giant Facebook has expanded itself at various platforms on PC, smartphones and tablets. It has been a year since it acquired the headset maker Oculs VR and now it is planning to bring the social network to the wraparound headsets.

The plans were revealed by Chris Cox, Facebook’s chief product officer who said that the company is working on the immersive version of the social network. Cox said, “Virtual reality is pretty cool. We’re working on apps for VR.” The chief product officer at the media conference revealed how they have been testing the virtual reality demos which would make the users feel like they are in a fighter jet.

Cox was also confident that the users of the product will feel they are looking in to the future and will deliver an awesome experience. While explaining the concept further, Cox said that Facebook in its usual allows the users to share thoughts, videos and photos but the virtual reality world will allow the social network users to send out a bigger and fuller picture.

At the same time Cox, while talking about the VR apps for Facebook has time before it is launched. Facebook’s another shareholder Microsoft in January 2015 announced that it is building ‘holographic virtual reality in to Windows 10.
