Facebook to change the way newsfeed appears

Social networking giant Facebook says that it will be making changes on the news feed section of the users. A dramatic difference is expected to be seen on the newsfeed as it will be changing the algorithm that handles the posts, photos and videos.

The change is a part of the focus by the social network to show more information from the user’s favourite friends. This means that the users will now see what they actually want to see. Facebook will be deciding for the users who those best friends are and who can be a problem for them.

Product manager of Facebook, Max Eulenstein said, “The goal of News Feed is to show you the content that matters to you”. FB’s user experience researcher in a blog post said that the right mix of updates are to be given from friends and public figures. The balance will be different for different people depending on what people are most interested in learning about every day.

People who do not have many online friends or who do not follow many pages, will be able to see multiple posts in a row from the same source. The users will also be able to see more content from their favourite friends.
