Sony Ericsson Xperia Play to launch on 13th February: Sony

Gadget Herald: Sony has officially confirmed the news, for the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play as it will be launching on the 13th February this year. This is one of the most awaited smartphone for2011, for it has broken all technological standards, for it has merged a gaming console onto a smartphone. The phone is all set to make a debut before the commencement of the Mobile World Congress 2011.

The first advertisement of the Xperia Play made debut during the Superbowl last weekend. The phone is running on the Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system. It is the first kind of its phone to ever be launch, for the company successfully integrated a PlayStation Pocket console on a smartphone device.

Prior to this official news there were tonnes of rumours on the web describing the phone and its possible launch date. The reason to such an excitement in context to the phone is because it will serve two purposes for the user, a gaming console and also a smartphone.
