Microsoft delays its Timeline feature for Windows 10

US based software giant Microsoft had unveiled its Timeline feature for Windows 10 earlier his year and has indicated that it would be launched later in 2017. The new Timeline has been designed to allow Windows 10 users to switch with different devices including the iOS and Android phones. It was expected that the Windows 10 testers would be trying out the new feature for the Fall Creators Update but the company has confirmed that the launch has been delayed and will be launched when Windows ten will get its next major update.

An executive from Microsoft, Joe Belfiore said, “Timeline won’t be in the Fall Creators Update. We’re planning for it to be in early insider builds shortly after Fall Creators Update is out.” The Windows 10 Fall Creators Update is expected to be launched in September 2017. Meanwhile Microsoft is testing the final features with the Windows Insiders. Windows 10 is expected to get its next major update after the Fall Creators Update, is expected to arrive by March 2018.

The best feature of the Timeline is it allows the users to pick up from where they left. It will also be applicable to the Android, iOS and Windows 10 devices. The feature has been designed to have the ability to quickly move from one device to another. This is expected to be similar to apple’s feature on macOS and iOS. However, this is not the first time Microsoft has delayed the launch of an update to Windows 10. The software giant had plans to send its people integration to Creators Update but Microsoft delayed it for the Fall Creators Update which is due later in 2017.
