1.5 Million Windows Phone 7 Platform Devices Sold In The Global Market: Microsoft

Gadget Herald: Microsoft Windows has added another feather into its cap, as the company has claimed that there are more than 1.5 million Windows Phone 7 platform based devices already sold in the global market.

It has been noticed that since the launch of the operating system, the company has not spoke anything about the sales figures, but its was shocking to known the figures that it has mounted just six weeks of its official launch.

The company officials have stated that “We are pleased that phone manufacturers sold over 1.5 million phones in the first six weeks, which helps build customer momentum and retail presence” Prior to the announcement, there were many rumours over the web stating that the Windows Phone 7 was not doing well at all in the market, especially compared to the Android.

Today we have more than a dozen phones and devices that are running on the Windows Phone 7, and the most number of such phones are available with HTC, Samsung and LG. But there is a speculations into the figures, as this could be the official figure of the units distributed to the wholesalers and retailers around the world and not to the public.
