Next generation AirPods to have health monitoring features

While many tech companies are working at their best to introduce new technologies in their respective devices, Apple is also making attempts to make its gadgets more usable and more tech friendly. A report has said that Apple will be releasing its next generation AirPods that will include health monitoring features in the first half of 2019.

The report by a leading daily has said, “In terms of wireless headsets, Apple is set to release AirPods 2 sometime in the first half of 2019, and the new wireless earbuds with discrete designs to carry health monitoring functions are expected to receive enthusiastic market responses.” The mention has been made in an article on how wearables are expected to drive rigid flex PCD market growth in 2019. However, the report has not cited any sources for the AirPods rumour and has only mentioned that the Taiwan based printed circuit board makers Zhen Ding Tech and Flexium Interconnect supply components for Apple Watch and the AirPods at the moment.

The site has often supplied reliable information but its reliability has been mixed when it came to interpreting information and accurately deciphering Apple’s plans. It receives a flood of data from the Asian supply chain. Some of them it claims that pertains to prototypes or test products but never make it to the market or get changed significantly before launch. More reports have said that the new AirPods with wireless changing case would debut late in the fourth quarter of 2018 or early in the first quarter of 2019.

The New AirPods listings have been added to the Bluetooth Special Interests Group’s regulatory database in November and has suggested that a refreshed version of the AirPod could be coming soon. None of the new features have been listed but the upcoming AirPods in the database support Bluetooth 5.0 compared to the Bluetooth 4.0 in the earlier versions.
