Disney classic games Aladdin and The Lion King to be launches in modern consoles and PC

Disney’s Aladdin and The Lion King are two of the classic games from the 16-bit era and are all set to be launched in the modern platforms this fall. Nighthawk Interactive, the publisher and Digital Eclipse, the developer will bundle those two retro platformers in Disney Classic Games: Aladdin and The Lion King. They will be released for the Nintendo Switch, Windows PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

A press release from Nighthawk Interactive says that both the games will feature “upscaled graphics to support high definition displays and additional upgrades to enhance playability” on modern platforms. Such upgrades will include save states, a level select, a rewind feature that will allow the gamers to jump backward up to 15 seconds, invulnerability and infinite lives. The collection will also include what the Nighthawk calls an Interactive Game Viewer that will allow the players to watch full game playthroughs along with the ability to skip forward, jump in and start playing at any point.

There will also be a variety of versions of each title. Nighthawk has promised multiple playable platform versions of the games including Game Boy, Sega Genesis, Super Game Boy releases and The Lion King’s Super NES version, which means that the Capcom’s Aladdin for Super NES is not likely to be included as a part of the package.

The collection will also have a new final cut of Aladdin and the game’s 1993 trade show demo version. The Disney Classic Games: Aladdin and the Lion King will be released physically and digitally for $29.99. The re-release of the 16-bit era games have come on the heels on the live-action remakes of Disney’s The Lion King and Aladdin. The films have so far grossed more than $2.5 billion at the box office. They are produced by alt Disney Pictures and have managed the win the hearts of the audience.
