Google applies to US government to lift trade ban from Huawei

Chinese tech giant Huawei had received a big blow after the US government implemented a trade ban and prevented the US companies to trade with them. This was when Huawei decided to be self sufficient and decided that no matter what it would never return to the apps and services of Google even if the US trade ban was lifted. For the Chinese giant is it will also remain a healthy option to be independent in the case if it was again caught in a trade war. But for Google this might not be a very favourable situation as it can lose a lot of revenue. The search engine has made a formal application to the US government while seeking permission to trade with Huawei.

Reports say that the information of the application was given out by Sameer Samat, who has not yet informed about when the results of the application will be out. If the permission is granted, the search engine will be able to allow Huawei to power its devices with its Android operating system again. On the other hand Microsoft has been able to get a green signal that has allows Huawei to use Windows but it has to be seen if Google will also be allowed to do the same.

Currently, Huawei is not able to power its latest devices with Android and is also not using the apps and services that have been developed by Google. This also includes its latest device Mate Xs as it is missing on some of the popular applications like Gmail and Maps. Huawei had to altogether build a replacement for Google Play Services altogether. However, this is certainly not an issue for the people who are using the Huawei devices in the Chinese market. It is only affecting people who are using the devices in other countries.

They are missing the Google apps and also access to the Play Store on their phones.
