Online retailers in China offer iPhone 11 on lucrative discounts

China is slowly and steadily recovering from the coronavirus pandemic and is in a much better situation when compared to other countries in the world where the pandemic has just began. The Chinese market stores are now open and the epicenter city of Wuhan lockdown has also been lifted. While the trade and purchasing is slowly recovering, many of the Chinese retailers have started offering discounts on the Apple’s iPhone 11. The price drop does not come as a surprise as the company continues to face a very uncertain year of for the smartphone market amidst the pandemic. The discount also makes sense as the Chinese rivals are looking forward to launch their 5G versions.

One of the offers has come from a popular Chinese electronics vendor known as Suning. It is offering the 64 GB version of the iPhone with a price tag of 4999 Yuan. This marks a discount of 500 yuan from the price that is listed on the official China website of Apple. On the other hand the iPhone Pro Max, 64 GB Version has a price tag of 7499 Yuan which marks a discount of about 1600 Yuan. Apart from Suning, other e-commerce vendors like DangDang, JD.com, Gome and others are also offering the iPhone 11 at lower prices.

This is not the first time Apple has allowed the third party sellers in China to lower the prices, even at the beginning of 2019 Apple had allowed the Chinese vendors to reduce the prices as the demand for the smartphones had dramatically reduced in China due to a competition from the domestic companies. Apple CEO Tim Cook later said that the price cut in China had helped the company to recover from the impact of coronavirus in China.

It was in February, when the coronavirus had peaked in China and Cook had then warned its investors that it would not meet the revenue guidance for the upcoming quarter due to the disturbance in the supply chain as well as the consumer demand.
