Zynn app removed from Google Play Store for plagiarism

Social networking and video sharing app Zynn has been removed from Google’s Play Store. The Chinese based application has been removed after accusations of plagiarism were made on it. The social networking app was launched during the first week of May, 2020. Reports say that many of the high-profile Tik-Tok users have alleged that their content was uploaded on Zynn without their consent.

Many have also claimed that they have clone accounts on Zynn with the profiles appearing on the new site and included their pictures, names and content that is back-dated. This meant that the videos were uploaded on the Zynn application even before it was officially launched in the US. As soon as Zynn was launched on the Play Store and the iOS by Apple, it soon became popular among the users and also made it to the top of the download charts within no time.

BY the end of May, the application became the most downloaded free iOS app and also the top 10 download on Google PlayStore. But its listing on Play Store has been removed. One of the major reasons behind the popularity of the application was the reward scheme, which paid the users to watch the videos and recruit friends on the app. However, the validity of the scheme is still not clear, but some videos have appeared which have shown users that they have received payments, while some of them say that they have not been able to cash their rewards.

According to the reports, the users earn $1 on signing up and get $20 for the first person they get to join the app. Later they get $10 for every five they bring on the app. The money could later be redeemed as rewards or even cash. A spokesperson from Zynn admitted that they have had some lapses in this area while talking about plagiarism and is working closely with Google in this regard.
