China based smartphone manufacturing giant ZTE is all set to launch the world’s first mass-produced 5G smartphone that will have an under-display camera. The new phone will be launched on September 1, 2020 in the Chinese market. The new device has been christened as the ZTE Axon 20 5G which is all set to launch in the Chinese smartphone market.

The under-display camera means that the camera of the device is going to be concealed completely behind the screen and will not have any notches or even a small hole punch. The design surely increases the space on the smarthphone display which is most of the time occupied by the black spot at the top of the device. While the launch date for China has been announced, the launch date for the United Kingdom is yet to be out. More details on the features and the price will be available on the launch date.

Reports say that the upcoming Axon 20 5G is rumoured to be powered by Android 10 with 6.92 inch OLED display. However, the accurate configurations of the smarthphone are not yet confirmed and will only be unveiled at the launch. ZTE in its company blog said that it aims to provide its consumers unprecedented user experiences. The company added that the company would continue to develop innovative technologies.

With the launch of the new 5G smartphone with under-display camera, the company will be promoting display technologies in the entire smartphone segment. ZTE also calls its latest device as a milestone in its ambition to provide a full display smartphone. Some of the major companies in the world have been working on a full display smartphone. To include a front facing camera, the smartphone designs have earlier introduced the notch that proved to be pretty popular. Some of the other popular designs include the pop-up selfie camera smartphone that can be seen on the Galaxy A80 by Samsung.
