On the other hand a retailer shop in the UK has started to send emails to the customers who had placed pre-orders for the PlayStation and is informing them that they will not be able to receive their consoles in time during the launch. The retailer in question had launched a program that allowed the interested customers to pre-order the PS5 by registering their interest before the actual pre-orders go live officially. The pre-orders started off on September 17, 2020 and the customers were asked again to confirm if they would like to keep pre-order.

The email sent to the customers has said that after receiving updates from Sony, they will not be able to fulfil the pre-order on the launch date. People who have ordered from ShopTo are receiving the emails and if you have still not received the email, then it is advised that they check their pre-order status. The pre-orders of the PS5 managed to be sold out within hours from multiple retailers. Some of the retailers had also opened PS5 pre-orders for a brief time on September 25, 2020 as well.
