Motorola Razr smartphone launch in US today

Gadget Herald: Mobile phone manufacturing giant Motorola is about the unveil its Razr handset today on 18th October 2011 in the US. The countdown has begun on the official website of Motorola as just a few hours are left for the phone to be unveiled.

The company had put up an image at the Motorola website today and reports have said that the phone has been named as ‘Razr’. Today, the phone will be unveiled in the US and the next day it will be unveiled at an event that is due to be held in Germany, Europe.

Last week, Motorola had released a video for the event which gave a hint of the revival of the Razr brand by showing a razor blade. The video had also indicated that the new device would be faster, smarter, thinner and also stronger.

The new Razr looks like a typical Motorola handset, but it looks thinner with a rear-facing HD camera. In the US, it is expected to come on Verizon with the 4G technology. Some of the features that are possibly in the phone include a 4.3-inch AMOLED screen. The Razr could also be powered by the Android Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS). The only problem is that Google is yet to announce the first device with the ICS, on the other hand, Motorola has said that the announcement is a joint one with Google.
