South Korean giant Samsung has already clarified that it will no longer be providing a charger and earphones in the boxes of the Galaxy S21 range. But now the company has also confirmed that it will slowly be implementing this to all of the future phones as well. Patrick Chomet, the EVP and Head of the Customer Experience Office at Samsung during a question and answer session said that they will be gradually removing the chargers and earplugs from the device boxes.

Chomet added that the changes will help a sustainable consumption of devices and the users will not be under any pressure of maintaining extra chargers or accessories with new phones. With the statement by Patrick Chomet, it seems like Samsung ultimately aims not to include the chargers with any of the Samsung phones. However, with the word ‘gradual’ that was used, it seems like the change could not be sudden and will be applied in phases. This can also mean that some of the future Samsung phones could still come with the chargers and accessories and with time the trend would fade away.

Samsung also explained about applying the change and said that many of its users continue to use the old accessories and added that not including the charger and earphones is also environmental friendly. The company has also clarified that it has been using the standard USB-C charging ports since the year 2017 which means that people who have the older chargers that can still work with the new and upcoming Samsung Galaxy devices.

As for now it cannot be said which of the future phones would be available with a charger and which ones will not be. But people who are worried that they do not have an older charger, they will always have an option to buy one separately. They will also be able to buy additional accessories from an authorized dealer.
