The Super Nintendo World Studios in Osaka Japan was delayed massively due to the coronavirus pandemic. After enough of breaks and obstacles, the theme park is all set to be opened for the general public on March 18, 2021. The theme park will be reopened after almost a year long delay. Nintendo made the announcement through its official Twitter account and was accompanied by an image that had shown guests leaping over the landmarks as they are seen wearing different face masks.

It was last reported in the month of January that the opening of the theme park was delayed due to the pandemic but the media tours continued to be held. The park in Osaka, Japan was originally expected to have a grand opening during the Summer Olympics Tokyo, but due to the coronavirus pandemic, the timeline was disturbed. Later it was expected to be opened in the month of February, but that was also delayed after the authorities in Osaka had declared a state of emergency as the number of COVID-19 patients had increased.

The presentation that was given in the month of January, 2021 had mentioned that the theme park would resemble like a life sized video game. The visitors to the park would be given special power-up bands that would be wearable bands that will allow the visitors to collect coins.
