Getting vaccinated for COVID-19 is trending and is something that majority of people are cooperating with. There are a number of ways today by which people can show a proof that they have been vaccinated. Different nations have their own apps to determine and store their vaccination information. South Korean giant Samsung has made it easier for people to show proof that they have been vaccinated. It can be done with the help of a Galaxy smartphone.
The company has joined hands with The Commons Project which is a healthcare non-profit. It helps to securely store the immunization status of a person. The information can be stored digitally on Samsung Pay. This would mean that the user while entering a bar or a restaurant will be able to show that he/she has been vaccinated. A number of public entities ask for a proof of their vaccinations as a requirement to enter their premises.
The user has to just download the CommonHealth app available on Google Play Store and undergo the authentication process of the software. The app then securely records the person’s vaccination status after which the user can download the Smart Health Card that can be shown at the restaurants, airports, bars and other places that ask for a proof of vaccination. It can also be shared securely with the help of a QR code. All the Galaxy smartphones that support Samsung Pay will have the feature by the end of this week. The good news is that Samsung Pay is also available on some of the Samsung smartwatches.
The number of users using the digital wallet is increasing and is a very natural extension to make the records easily accessible. Meanwhile, a number of public and private places are reintroducing the policy of wearing a mask as the Delta variant poses a serious threat. A number of nations continue to maintain strictness due to the fear of a third wave.
