HTC to launch smartphones without chargers in box

GadgetHerald.com: Smartphone manufacturing giant HTC has stated it will release a smartphone which will not have a charger in the box. The new smartphone without a charger will be out in a few weeks and it is expected to be launched as part of the pilot scheme in partnership with O2.

The UK mobile operator has said that 70 percent of the people who buy a new smartphone already have a relevant charger at home, which adds up to more than 100 million chargers in the UK being unused.

O2 has said that the new scheme is not about making money, but will be done with an aim to help the environment.
