Google Glass users to post pictures to Facebook and Twitter

The Explorer edition of Google’s networked spectacles, Glass, now has seven new apps, including social networking apps like Twitter and Facebook. The new apps, known as Glassware, from Twitter, Facebook, CNN, Evernote, Tumblr and Elle Magazine  now join previously released non-Google apps Path and the New York Times.

Google Apps for Glass include Gmail, Now and Google+. Until now, Google+ was the only place where Glass owners could post to. Search engine giant announced the new, third-party apps at its I/O conference in San Francisco, on May 16, 2013. The new Glass app was announced by Erick Tseng, a former Google Android engineer, who is now a Facebook head of mobile.

The new application will allow the users to upload photos from Glass to their Facebook timeline. It will also give users the option to choose whether to keep it public or private. Images taken from Glass are tagged with a Facebook ‘f’ icon in the corner. It is also not possible to tag the photos with Glass.

After using the Glass app on Facebook, user can tag on the photo in Glass and select ‘add description’ to the images by dictation.  The Twitter app focuses on the photos taken from the device.
