LG announces Series 3 mid-range smartphones

Smartphone manufacturing giant LG has announced three new handsets before the beginning of Mobile World Congress next week. The company announced its L90, L70 and L40 handsets, which belong to the LG Series 3 mid-range handsets and follow in the footsteps of the Series 2 phones that were released in 2013.

The new LG L90 has the highest specifications of the three and features a 4.7-inch, 960 x 540 resolution display and is powered by a quad-core 1.2 GHz processor, with 1 GB of RAM and Google’s Android 4.4 KitKat mobile operating system, which will also have LG’s custom user interface features. The device will be offered in black and white color options. Additional features of the device include an 8-megapixel camera and a 2-megapixel camera, 8 GB of internal storage and 2,540 mAh battery.

The phone – despite the fact it is the highest specified of the three – does not offer support for LTE, but the L90 will support HSPDA. The LG L70 and the LG L40 will run on Google’s Android 4.4 KitKat and will have 4.3-inch and 3.5-inch screens, respectively. So far, the company has not revealed full specifications of the two handsets.

Dr Jong-seok Park, the CEO of LG said that the L Series 3 also provides an array of benefits to users.
