YouTube announces live broadcast feature

Video streaming giant YouTube has announced that it is adding the capability to broadcast live video from its mobile app. The new capability of the app will be initially launched to some of the selected creators, but it is expected to rollout to more people in near future.
Kurt Wilms, the YouTube product lead at the VidCon revealed that the latest feature will come to the popular video social network. However, the video streaming site has had live-streaming capabilities earlier as well but it was limited to those who had verified channels and would be done through the Creator Studio. With the latest reports about the feature, people will be able to have more accessible live-streaming tool and will be available right in to the core YouTube mobile app.
The new feature will be in direct competition with Facebook’s Live video option as well as Twitter’s Periscope. Both the services have been in news in recent times and many users have adopted the services.
The new feature is built right into the YouTube Mobile app due to which there might not be much learning required. The big red button has to be tapped at the lower right hand side of the screen, take a selfie of the video thumbnail and the broadcast begins.
