This year’s PlayStation Experience (PSX) ceremony set the stage for the announcement of several upcoming gaming gadgets. Among the confirmed new technology in the gaming industry is the Death Stranding by Hideo Kojima creator of Metal Gear Solid, which uses the Decima engine.
Guerrilla Games used twitter to announce their collaboration with Kojima saying that they were proud and felt honored to share their Decima Engine with the guru of gaming technology. Before the tweet, gaming studio had earlier confirmed through industry sources that spoke to Gadgets 360 that they were providing the power tech to sever Death Stranding.
“We are very proud and honored to collaborate with @KojiPro2015_EN and sharing our @DecimaEngine with them,” tweeted the official Guerrilla Games account.
Despite unconfirmed sources, rumors point out that the Horizon Zero Dawn is expected to be released as Guerrilla product, will be powered partly or wholly by the Decima Engine.
In addition to Death Stranding, it’s confirmed that PSVR game RIGS Mechanized Combat League and Horizon Zero Dawn will run on Decima Engine power. The announcement of the Decima Engine powering the Death Stranding followed an earlier imprecise prediction by industry insider Shinobi602 that Killzone studio Guerrilla Games would source the tech. In a post on NeoGAF, a popular gaming forum, he denied his wrong claims arguing that the Guerrilla’s engine was putting in work.
The release of the Horizon Zero Dawn is an indication of a long wait before we next have our hands on a tech matching the Death Stranding. The PS4 and the PS4 Pro will feature the Horizon Zero Dawn action-adventure game exclusively. The game is set in post-apocalyptic lush forests, refusing a mechanical creature.
Despite a fail of its 2016, planned release the official date to start playing the game in 2017 are 28 February in the US, India, and Europe on March 1 while March 3 will be a turn for the UK. Prices are expected to follow Sony’s first-party games like the GranTurismo Sport in the range of retailing price Rs. 3,999 ($60 in the US) and Rs 3499 via PSN.
