Samsung to launch upcoming phones with huge 1TB memory cards

South Korean giant Samsung is trying its best to keep up in the smartphone market and maintaining its position in the smartphone market. There are reports that future smart devices of the company would feature a massive one terabyte storage capacity and the time might come sooner that the gadget enthusiasts expect. The South Korean giant has started mass production of its first one terabyte embedded Universal Flash Storage technology for smartphones.

The new chip will give the mobile devices of the company, PC like storage without the need for large capacity storage cards. The device can be useful for the users who take tons of pictures and HD videos. Samsung has said that it is enough to store 260 ten minute videos in 4K UHD. Cheol Choi, the EVP of Memory Sales & Marketing at Samsung Electronics said, “The 1TB eUFS is expected to play a critical role in bringing a more notebook-like user experience to the next generation of mobile devices”.

The upcoming devices by Samsung including the S10 is more likely to come with a 1TB option due to its new eUFS technology. The company had started mass production of its 512 GB Storage technology back in 2017 and then it debuted it with the new phones early in the following year. Apart from offering a massive storage, the new eUFS has also been designed to be faster than the typical SSDs, micro SDs and the previous versions of the technology.

The device has a 1,000 megabyte per second sequentialread speed which is twice that of the usual SSD and faster than its 512GB predecessor. Despite all that the South Korean giant has said that it will come in the same package size as its 512 GB flash memory, so it won’t have to make its big phones even bigger. Samsung these days is fighting tough with other competitors like Vivo, Oppo and Xiaomi.
