Sonos launches its first outdoor speakers

American consumer electronics company Sonos has introduced an in-wall and in-ceiling install speakers. The devices were expected since summer and is now all set to be launched soon. The new range of in-wall and in-ceiling speakers are waterproof outdoor speakers. The Sonos Architectural Sonace have been designed and optimized for the Sonos Amp and was launched in the US in August 2018 and has now become available for pre-order in the UK.

This is the first time the comoany has brought speakers outside of the home due to which is obviously makes it weather proof. The owners of the device can fix them outside of their house or also place them in the garden. Sonos has assured that they have been designed to withstand humidity, water, salt spray, heat, UV Rays and Freezing temperatures. The One Sonos Amp can connect with up to three pairs of the new speakers also can also comes with the functionalities like streaming service access through the app and AirPlay2 control.

When the device is connected to the Amp, the in-ceiling and in-wall speakers can activate the Trueplay calibration software that measures the size, construction and furnishings of the room in which the speakers are placed and automatically adjusts the EQ for optimal sound. The devices also come with specially designed round or optical square, grilles that can be painted to match with the wall or ceiling.

Patrick Spence, the company CEO said, “Our goal was to create a solution optimized for installers, bringing the Sonos experience to architectural speakers for the first time”. The In-wall and the In-Ceiling have been priced at $599 per pair and are available on Sonos.com now. The devices will start shipping from February 26, 2019.The Outdoor by Sonace has been priced at $799 and will be launched by April, 2019. Just like the Sonos Amp, the rest of the world will have to wait patiently for its availability and pricing details.
