Smart Compose on Gmail, now available on Android devices

The feature of Smart Compose is surely a useful addition to Gmail. It is based on the email writing patterns and some of the phrases that are commonly used phrases and it tries to predict what the user will say next and surfaces as s suggestion that can be simply accepted. The feature started off as an experimental feature on the desktop and was then added to the G Suit accounts. It was only until the October Pixel event that the users learned that it would be coming to the phones as a Pixel exclusive.

But reports say that the feature would be exclusively for the Pixel 3 and not even for the Pixel 2 or any other device could benefit from it. That is changing today. The Smart Compose is now active on Pixel 2XL and OnePlus 6T and it has also been verified that it is working for others on their Pixel 2 and Galaxy S9+ devices. The users will get a pop up while explaining what the feature is when you start typing any email and after they have written a few words, they will get suggestions.

The email users have to just swipe on the text not the keyboard to accept the suggestion or continue typing if they want to say something else. As usual, the feature is auto-abled but can be turned off if the users prefer by going to the Gmail Settings. The account has to be opened where it can be disabled and the Smart Compose Box has to be ticked off.

The devices are usually running on 9.2.3 of Gmail so if the option is not seen yet then the users have t just make sure that they are on the version and close and then reopen the app. That will trigger it to show up. The new feature on the app is surely going to be a blessing for the mobile users.
