Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 to be christened as Galaxy Bloom

Since forever it has been speculated that Samsung is all set to launch a sequel to its ever expensive Galaxy Fold. Reports had then stated that the South Korean giant is working on a clamshell design for the Galaxy Fold 2 and the project has been codenamed as Bloom. It can also be expected that the sequel to the Galaxy Fold might also be called as the Galaxy Bloom.

At a closed CES meeting, Samsung has reportedly revealed the name of the new Fold. The meeting only had a few key partners. There was also a discussion about calling the Galaxy S11 as the Galaxy S20 instead. During the meeting, DJ Koh, the CEO of Samsung’s mobile division had given out information about the upcoming products by the company. It was also discussed as to why the name Bloom was chosen for the sequel of the Fold.

Koh explained that the design of the upcoming Bloom was inspired by the texture of the make-up powder by Lancome, which is a popular French based make-up giant. This means that the fresh product by Samsung will see the company take a completely different approach and will be targeting women who are in their 20s. This is the reason the product has such a design that will attract women, who can have a feel of a make-up powder box.

Koh also confirmed during the meeting that the Galaxy S11 will be launched with the name Galaxy S20. The decision was taken by Samsung as it intends to begin the new decade with fresh marketing strategies for its upcoming products. The upcoming models by Samsung will have names the Galaxy S20, the Galaxy S20+ and the Galaxy S20 Ultra. Meanwhile the Galaxy Bloom and the Galaxy S20 will have 8K video recording capabilities. The South Korean giant is reportedly jointly working with Google to introduce 8K video streaming on YouTube.
