Sony indefinitely delays PlayStation 5 event

Tech giant Sony was expected to reveal its much awaited PlayStation 5 on June 4, 2020, but has decided to postpone the event. The launch event has been postponed indefinitely and many speculated that the decision was taken due to the Black Lives Matter protests. However, the company said that delay has been done as it wants more stand by time.
A statement from the company added that the gamers across the globe are excited to see the new PlayStation 5 but added that they don’t feel that it is the right time for celebration and that they wish to stand back. Sony had earlier announced that it had planned to host an event that would focus on the PlayStation 5 on June 4, 2020 at 4 PM PT/4PM ET. It was also announced that the company had scheduled a presentation on the PS5 for about an hour and would showcase the PS5 games for the system.

But beyond that nothing was shared about the event but PlayStation boss Jim Ryan had once said that PS5 is still scheduled to be released in 2020. This seems to be like a promise that no matter what the console will be out in 2020 and no further delays can be expected. The indefinite delay of the June 4 event could not last for a long time. Ryan in his post had shared that the games coming to the PS5 could represent the best in the industry and come from the innovative studios.

He had then also said that the event on June 4 was a part of an update towards the PS5. It is also not clear if the future updates would also come with the help of such streams online. Sony had also assured that even after the event, they will have much more to share with the gaming fans. While Microsoft has been pretty open about its Xbox Series X, Sony maintains a silence over the details with its PS5.
