The official launch of the Fitbit Sense is just round the corner. Before the launch, the company has got a green signal for the usage of its app that can take an ECG in the Europe and the US. The Fitbit Sense will mark the first health smartwatch by the company which has already been popular with its smartwatches. This will be the first time a device by Fitbit will be having a feature of electrocardiogram.
The company has assured that the feature is all set to be launched on the Fitbit Sense in October 2020 for the users in the United Kingdom and the United States. Even many parts of the European countries and India will be able to have the feature. Fitbit had talked and boasted about its ECG feature a number of times through a number of reports. A study of the device had found that the device was able to detect Afib in about 98.7 percent of the cases and was about 100 percent accurate in terms of identifying the study participants had normal sinus rhythm.
In the United States, it is found that the Afib continues to be one of the major causes of stokes which means that it is essential to catch hold of an irregular rhythm at an early stage. The beauty if the Fitbit Sense is that it will allow the user to take an on the spot ECG reading which can also be shown to the doctor. The reading will help to detect if the person has a normal or an Afib rhythm. However, Fitbit is not the first one to come up with such a feature. This is also seen in the Apple, Samsung as well as Withings devices.
Even Samsung has managed to get a clearance from the FDA for its use on the Galaxy Watch 3. The feature is not yet released to the users. A clearance for Fitbit is a great news for the company.
