YouTube Music for Android now adds repeat and shuffle features

Users of YouTube Music made a very common complaint that it lacked some of the basic features. The complaint came specifically from the users of Google Play Music. One of the basic feature that was missing was ability to repeat songs while Casting. But now that feature has been added to YouTube Music for Android.

Since the past few weeks the company has been dropping hints that it was working on some of its minor capabilities. Earlier the Now Playing screen would hide the repeat and shuffle buttons when Casting was enabled. But in recent times the buttons no longer disappeared, but it was neither clickable. But now a number of users said that the repeat buttons can be tapped when the user is connected to Google Home or Nest Speakers or any other Cast device. However, the shuffle buttons continues to be greyed out but it is expected that it would be launched soon.

It is surely surprising that some of the basic buttons like repeat and shuffle were not launched soon but the Android users are now satisfied that it exists. The progress has come after the ability to use Google Takeout for downloading Play Music libraries are no longer available.

YouTube music is a music streaming platform that has been developed by the popular video sharing company YouTube which is a subsidy of Google. It helps in providing a custom interface for music streaming and allows the users to browse through music videos and songs which have been laid out on the basis of the genres, recommendations and playlists. The users can also take advantage of the premium service that allows the users to have ad-free playback, downloading songs from offline playback and audio-only background playback. Such benefits are also available for the subscribers of the Google Play Music and YouTube Premium. The service was launched on November 12, 2015 and is available on the Android, iOS, Google Home, Sonos, Android Auto and Web platforms.
