Nintendo is indeed trying different things to grab attention of its fans. After the Super Nintendo World the gaming giant is all set to turn one of its old factories in to a museum. The news was revealed by the company and revealed that it will be turning the space in to a gallery that will be showcasing the consoles along with other items that it has launched in these years. Overall, it is going to be an interesting space and a tourist attraction especially for the gaming fans.
Reports say that Nintendo has been planning to put up a display about its history and products since a long time. This will be a way the company will be able to share about its history and product timeline. Nintendo then decided to renovate the Uji Ogura plant and the surrounding space that will serve the purpose. The city of Uji is located near Kyoto and can be easily accessed by train. During the pre-pandemic, time the city of Kyoto would be filled with tourists. In the upcoming years, as the pandemic subsides, the travel is expected to recover and the popularity of the museum could be improved.
The Uji Ogura plant was established in the year 1969 and had then manufactured Hanafuda cards and playing cards. The place was also used as a customer service centre where the products were sent for repair. But it was in the year 2016 when the company moved its operations to a new factory in the city.
The upcoming museum is expected to be named as the Nintendo Gallery but no opening date has been announced. The work on the museum is expected to be completed by March 2024. Meanwhile, the Nintendo fans can enjoy the Super Nintendo World located in Osaka and was recently opened. The theme park has rides and attractions that will remind gaming fans of the game characters from Nintendo.
