Gadget Herald: After a long patent battle between Apple and Samsung, where the American company alleged that Samsung copied its iPad and iPhone, the Australian court overturned the ruling that alleged Samsung of the patent infringement on November 30, 2011.
This means that the new Galaxy Tablet computer would soon go on sale. The decision was taken by the Federal Court in Australia, in the long patent war between the companies.
Samsung can now make the best of the holiday season in Australia. The court on Wednesday said that the evidence fails to show that the Galaxy tablet had infringed Apple’s touch screen patent.
The court had also blasted the earlier decision by the court as ‘clearly wrong’. In the month of October, the Federal Court Justice Annabelle Bennett gave in the request from Apple for a temporary injunction against the sales of the Galaxy Tab 10.1 in Australia. The company was thus prevented to sell its devices in Australia in its current form. The decision was immediately appealed and on Wednesday the court gave its nod to lift the injunction and thus allowed the sales to go ahead. In the month of April, Apple began the patent dispute, alleging that they copied the product design as well as the user interface for their products.
