Micro blogging site Twitter made an announcement about a number of new updates that it would be rolling out for direct messages. The new features will be rolling out in the next few weeks. The users with the help of the new features will be able to send direct messages to multiple users in separate conversations. The users can now share a Tweet in and up to 20 separate DM conversations.
The new features are soon expected to be rolled out in iOS and web versions of Twitter to begin with and gradually it will also be rolled out for Android. The fresh change will help the users to avoid the accidental beginning of a group chat when one attempts to send a DM to many users. The iOS users will soon be able to see quick changes in the DM stamps. This means that instead of stamping every message with a date and time, the messages will be grouped by day. Twitter has explained that this will help to reduce the tie stamp clutter.
Moreover, the iOS users will soon also be able to have an access to the “add reaction” buttons by long pressing or double tapping on a message. While this could be a good news for the iOS users, the Android users might have to wait a little more longer for the two new features. But the Android users will still get the ‘quick scroll’ feature through a DM conversation.
It has been noticed that Twitter has managed to squeeze in a number of new features in recent times. It includes a new process that helps to report a COVID misinformation, a problem that is prevalent especially with the rumours about vaccines. Twitter has also announced that apart from the DM messaging features, it will also be easier for the users to subscribe to the Revue newsletters of Twitter users that can be done directly from a Twitter profile.
