Wireless chargers have been around for quite some time and are slowly spreading its presence across different devices. Home accessories giant Ikea has come up with a gadget to charge your device while redefining convenience. The company has launched its wireless charger Sjomarke that has the ability to charge your device right at the comfort of your desk. So while you are working from home and wish to charge your device right from your desk, Ikea has the solution. The new $40 wireless charger has been designed to work on nearly any desk or table.
Talking about the concept, the Wireless Qi charging pad can be installed underneath your desk and is placed with the help of double-sided tapes. An X shaped sticker has to be placed right above the wireless charger where the smartphone can be kept for charging. But the users have to make sure that the desk is made of wood or plastic so that the magnetic field is not disturbed. The table should have a minimum thickness of 8mm as per the manual.
After the pad is installed, mark the charger on the table with the X sign that is included with the package and plug the device with the help of the six foot long power cable. Switch it on and the wireless charger is ready to use. The charger will supply 5 watts of power but it will not be superfast charging. The company has mentioned that it also comes with a temperature and power monitoring feature so it does not get overheated. The feature seems important as it will be placed against wooden surfaces.
This seems to be the perfect device for people who do not like to create a mess on their desks and wish to keep it clean and tidy. The Sjomarke by Ikea is all set to be launched at the stores and the website in October 2021.
