Cupertino based tech giant Apple has filed for a new patent that has mentioned about the details of an all-glass iPhone that could have a wrap-around display for the images on the back and front sides. Apart from the bold glass design for the iPhone, the company is also planning for new and bold designs for its Mac products and Watch. The new patent was filed by Apple last week however, it is not essential that the ideas in the patent could necessarily become a reality.
Apple has described the glass iPhone as an Electronic device with a glass enclosure. Going by the patent, it looks as if the company has patented a glass box. The patent filing has shown drawings that has shown a few buttons that have been curved along with the edge of the device. The buttons also include one that activates airplane mode, controls for volume and Wi-Fi enabling. The actual highlight is the filing that has shown that the product will have a display that is at the back of the phone apart from the main screen on the front.
The patent filing is long and has suggested that it will be having screens that run along with the edge of the phone so all the sides have the ability to display something or will be glass encased. Off-course there will also be room for speakers and microphones. The patent filing has also mentioned about the challenges that come with making a device that comes with a number of displays along with multiple transparent sides. The filing by Apple has also shown drawings of an all-glass cylindrical Mac Pro tower that has shown the components inside the device so that the owners will be able to witness the processors while working.
Despite the ambitious design mentioned above, it is very unlikely that such a design could become a reality in future.
