Xiaomi 12 series to be launched on December 28

Tech giant Xiaomi has made an official announcement that it is all set to launch the Xiaomi 12 series on December 28. It has been nearly a year ever since it launched the Mi 11 and with the new Xiaomi 12 series, it will be phasing out the Mi branding like it had announced earlier in 2021. The company has unveiled a teaser poster that features the Chinese sprinter Su Bingtian which has indicated that the event could be focused on the Chinese market. The flagship phone could be launched for the Chinese market before it makes it way towards the global market.

The upcoming Xiaomi 12 series is likely to have four smartphones and could include the Xiaomi 12, the 12 Pro, the 12X and the 12 Ultra. There is also a possibility that not all the mentioned smartphones would be announced during the December 2021 event. Such a pattern was earlier followed by the company. The executives of Xiaomi were seen using the three phones to post on their Weibo accounts. Not many details are out about the upcoming series but the company has confirmed that they will be powered by the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor by Qualcomm.

Some of the probable marketing images of the Xiaomi 12 and the 12 Pro have shown that the phones are expected to feature the centrally orientated hole-punch cameras. Some of the rumoured specifications include a triple camera set up on the rear. Xiaomi is ranked as the second biggest smartphone manufacturer in the Europe but does not have much presence in the United States with a 50 megapixel primary camera.

The demand for Xiaomi phones is driven due to the phones like the Mi 11 that offers specifications that are similar to the flagship smartphones by Samsung at a much affordable price. The Xiaomi 11 was launched globally in February 2021 which has hinted that the sequel could be launched soon after the launch event in December, 2021.
