Apart from the Huawei P50 Pocket, the company has also launched the Huawei Watch D smartwatch that also has the ability to measure the user’s blood pressure levels. The new feature is something that the already popular and dominant Apple Watch 7 also does not have. And it is not just normal reference feature as Huawei has claimed that the figures displayed by the device are accurate and has an error margin of ± 3mmHg. The results are displayed by the device with the help of micro air pumps and airbags which means that the device has got a lot in it.
Apart from measuring the blood pressure levels, the Watch D can also take an ECG of the user and monitor the blood oxygen saturation levels, something that has become vital amidst the coronavirus pandemic. The Watch D can also monitor sleep and heart rate and the company has claimed that it can also detect arrhythmia, atherosclerosis and risks of sleep apnea. With all the above features, it surely sounds like a great device for a person who would like to closely monitor their health on a very serious front.
Other features of the device include a 1.64-inch 456 x 280 AMOLED screen that has a pixel density of 326 pixels per inch. It is also dust resistant, IP68 rating for water resistance and comes with an aluminum alloy case available in titanium or black colors. So far it cannot be predicted as to when the Huawei Watch D would be launched outside China and has been priced at 2988 yuan.
Its abilities to measure blood pressure levels would be the selling point for the device. However, Huawei is not the only one to offer such a feature as the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 and the Watch 4 Classic also offer a similar feature but it works on a less accurate method less than what Huawei has to offer.
