Apple usually has the practice of launching latest tech pretty late only to pitch against the ones that have been already launched. But a latest rumour has indicated the iPhone 15 Pro models could not have a physical SIM card slot. The feature could be for some of the phones to be launched in some of the countries and regions. However, the change is not expected to happen any sooner. People familiar with the progress have informed that Apple has suggested some of the big carriers in the United States to be prepared for the launch of its eSIM only smartphones that would be launched by September 2022.

To support the rumour, a legitimate document was shared that mentioned about the time frame for the initiative. But the catch here is that the document has not specified Apple or the iPhone. But the transition with some of the U.S. carriers are expected to offer to some of the selected iPhone 13 models which means that they will come without the nano SIM card in the second quarter of 2022. Not many might have noticed that the iPhone 13 models that are sold at the Apple Stores or on Apple.com already do not have the nano-SIM card in the box. The users are activating a cellular plan with the help of eSIM by turning on the iPhone and connecting to a WiFi network. They are made to follow on-screen instructions.

Apple has reportedly a September 2022 deadline and there are all the chances that the company would get rid of the physical SIM card slot and would begin the process with some of its iPhone 14 models instead of the iPhone 15 models.

It has to be noted that the eSIM card service is not available in all countries, which means that the iPhones with SIM card slots could continue to be available in some of the countries.
