Nintendo Switch undergoes 3600 hour burn-in test

Popular YouTuber Bob ‘Wulffden’ Wulff had put the Nintendo Switch OLED’s screen to test and managed to detect a slight burn-in. However, the burn-in was only noticed after a massive 3600 hour long experiment. Bob spent the past five months while subjecting a Switch OLED to display the same image that has been taken from the Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

However, the experiment proved that the device by Nintendo is pretty good towards the standards and that it took about 3600 hours for a burn-in to actually become noticeable. This means that it took 150 days as the device displayed the same image without any break. This is something that normal gamers would not do under normal circumstances. Even after the 3600 hours experiment, Wolff said that the burn-in was very slight and showed the image that the device was forced to display for so many days at a stretch.

More testing would be required to determine how long it would take to completely destroy the screen. But here the circumstances matter the most. The device was displaying the same image for a good 3600 hours without a break and that too without the auto-dimming capability of the device. Wolff had kept the device activated with the help of an automatic button presses from a third party Joy-Con.

The Nintendo Switch online mobile app received a major update earlier this week. After the update, the gamers can see which of their friends are online. More features have been added to the app through the update. Some of the improvements include the ability to change the online status settings. The latest update is the biggest that it has received so far and with this there are hopes that it would be more user friendly. The overall design has been changed and more minor changes have also been applied all to improve the gamer’s experience.
