Microsoft launches its Surface Laptop Go 2

Software giant Microsoft has officially announced  its new Surface Laptop Go 2. The new laptop has been announced as a replacement of the older model that was launched in October 2020. People who are interested to buy the new Go 2 can place their pre-orders. The laptop price range begins from $600 and comes in four different colors. People who pre-order the laptops  would be able to receive their respective devices by as soon as June 7, 2022.

The new Surface Laptop Go 2 went in to retail listing on May 31, 2022. The device has a Core i5-1135G7 processor. The chip that the device has might be considered as a little outdated, but continues to be a performer  and is also an upgrade from the Core i5-1035G1 that was found in the older version. The device has dimensions of 12.4 inch  with 1536X1024 touch screen which is the same as the previous version. Even the port selection, size and the weight of the new laptop is the same as the previous one. Microsoft has claimed that the Laptop Go 2 is easier to be repaired when compared to the earlier one.

Apart from the SSD, the trackpad, keyboard and the display have been designed so they could be easily replaced. But it has also clarified that the replacement has to be done only by a Microsoft-certified personnel and not by the end users. With the starting price at $600, it is $50 more than the previous model. But the increase in the price is worth as the user gets a 128GB NVMe SSD instead of the 64GB eMMC storage. Another good thing is that the drive can be upgraded with a larger version later which is economic when it comes to an upgrade.

But the bad part is that the base model still comes with only 4GB of RAM. This could be a limitation every time a person would try to play a game on the device.
