The coronavirus pandemic is a time when the social networking and instant messaging platforms play a major role. Such platforms are one of the main mediums of communication between people and keep the audience informed about the updates about the ongoing situation. Facebook owned popular instant messaging service WhatsApp has joined hands with the World Health Organization (WHO) to develop stickers that can be posted in the chats. The instant messaging service has launched some fresh stickers that will help to communicate some of the key aspects of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
The stickers have been developed jointly with the WHO and can be posted in the chats. WhatsApp while talking about the new range of stickers which have been designed, said that they remind of some of the important aspects of the pandemic like washing hands, social distancing and checking on loved ones. Such stickers will help the users to communicate their ideas more appropriately. The new range of stickers have been named as Together At Home.
The instant messaging platform in a blog post said that they are excited to work with the WHO to launch the Together At Home pack of stickers that will help the people to remain connected with amidst the coronavirus pandemic. The stickers that have been launched convey the important ideas like washing hands in a creative way and maintaining social distancing. Apart from that it also reminds of doing regular exercise amidst lockdown and appreciate the frontline workers and the personal heroes in our lives.
The stickers have also shown people working from home while messaging family and friends to check on them about their safety. The best part is that the stickers have been launched region-wise as per the local languages like Arabic, English, French, Russian, Spanish, Turkish, German and Indonesian. WhatsApp amidst the pandemic has earlier taken steps like limiting the number of times a message can be forwarded to people to avoid the spread of misinformation.
