Xiaomi announces long range wireless charger

Cupertino based giant Apple continues to struggle to release its AirPower device that is a multi-device wireless charging pad. But Chinese giant Xiaomi has now come up with a new technology altogether while showing a glimpse in to the future. The new technology will see the company come up with a device that will be able to charge the mobile phones wirelessly but will have a good wireless range. The only problem here with the tech is that no one knows when it would actually arrive and would be brought to use.

At the moment, wireless charging, is a very convenient form and allows the users to just place the smartphone or headphone on the pad without the need of a cable. But that has its own limitations as the device needs to be abandoned altogether on the desk until it is charged. On the other hand the Truly wireless charging is a bigger and better solution as it will charge the device as long as the person with the device is in the same room where the wireless transmitter has been placed. The charging would continue even if the user is using the device.

Now this might sound something from far future, but the fact is that the tech actually exists. It was in the year 2016 when a company known as Ossia had showed off the working prototypes of the Cota Wireless charging system at the CES. The device would continue to be charged around the booth of the company as it is carried around. However , the device needs to be upgraded with a special case in order to make it compatible with the charger.

Now Xiaomi has announced that it is coming up with its own charging station known as the Mi Air Charge Technology that will also have a similar function like that of the Cota Tech by Ossia. The Xiaomi device has a transmitter with antennas that help to detect the actual location of the device and then broadcasts millimeter-wide waves towards the device.
