South Korean giant Samsung might not have attended the CES 2022 in person, but is indeed making the best use of its opportunity as it hosts online events. The company recently showed off its Home Hub at a presentation which is an 8.4 inch tablet that helps to control all the connected home appliances in the household. More information has been shared by the company at the presentation. The Home Hub will be able to connect with every product in the SmartThings ecosystem along with Samsung appliances off-course.
The app has been designed in way that it will also be able to tell how much power the appliances are using and will also notify if one of them needs cleaning. People who are fond of cooking will be able to find a recipe hub to create a shopping list and meal plans. However, these are just some of the uses of the Home Hub. Samsung has claimed that the AI software of the device will be able to predict what the user needs and would present that information in front of the user exactly when they need it.
Samsung has also promised that it would support the upcoming Matter Standard that will allow the hub to be connected to other manufacturers as well. Samsung has shared a few pictures that indicated that the Home Hub runs on Android that shows that it can be used as a standard tablet. The device has two speakers and two micrphones and the Bixby assistant. The tablet comes with a charging dock that also allows the user to take it out of the stand.
It also comes with the company’s SmartThings app pre-installed. The users also have the liberty to download the same software on their phones. The Home Hub will be launched by the company in Korea in March, 2022 and it will be globally available on a later date. So far no details have been given about its pricing in the United States.
