Casio sports watch to be compatible with mobile fitness apps

Popular American company Casio America this week has unveiled the STB 1000 sports watch which is powered with Bluetooth 4.0 with low energy wireless technology. This will enable the users to have a check on the personal fitness data from the popular mobile applications.

The device will also allow the user to operate a music player on a smartphone and more such functions. The company is known for its innovative products. In the year 2011, Casio announced that its first G Shock watch which uses the wireless technology to communicate with the smartphones. The models which were later introduced added the compatibility with the multiple major smartphone brands worldwide and offered various other new functions including the notifications of the incoming calls and emails with the ability to control a smartphone’s music player from the watch.

The new STB 1000, Casio has extended the iPhone compatibility enabled through Bluetooth 4.0 to the sports watch category. The device is compatible with four of the iPhone fitness apps. All the applications compatible are available for download from the Apple App Store.

The device can be used to check on the personal fitness data like the distance, elapsed time, pulse, cycling speed and pedal rotations. The device will be priced at around $100.
