Samsung Pay to use Iris scanner for secured payments

Smartphone manufacturing giant Samsung has announced the latest addition to its Galaxy Note line up. The new smartphone is the Galaxy Note 7 which comes with several innovative features for the users. Samsung says that the new device comes with an Iris Scanner on the front of the device which can be used as an alternative way to unlock devices.
The feature can, not just be used to unlock the devices but can be used as a potential way to make secured payments online. Samsung had earlier promised that its Iris Scanner will soon be used for secured mobile banking purposes. Reports have said that the credit card companies in South Korea will use Samsung Pay with Iris recognition around the end of August, 2016.
The report comes after some of the South Korean banks have announced support for mobile banking based on iris recognition. The banks which have already introduced support for Iris include KEB Hana Bank, Woori Bank and Shinhan Bank. In terms if credit card companies, Shinhan Bank is ready with the technical preparations to support the devices. The service will soon be joined by KB Kookmin Card and Hyundai Card.
Meanwhile the Samsing Galaxy Note 7 also features Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on its display as well as on its back and a water proof S Pen.
