Apple excels in wearables segment compared to iPhones

Cupertino based smartphone giant Apple has been the dominator in the smartphone business due to its signature iPhones. But the excitement behind the iPhone has not remained the same like it used to be earlier. But still Apple depends on the iPhones for its business but has also found new segments to generate more revenue. One of the most lucrative businesses of Apple is the wearables segment which has been a pain in the neck to the competitor FitBit.

It has been noticed that the sales of Apple’s iPhones has been declining year by year, but the wearables business has seen a good revenue growth of about 54 percent. The sales in the wearable segment ha srelatively increased in recent times all because of the name and off-course the standard that it has always maintained in the premium segment. The 2019 financial year noticed a remarkable growth in the home, accessories and wearables segment and was up by 41 percent. Company CEO Tim Cook was also all praises of the wearable business and was positive about the future.

Cook boasted about the business that it set of the wearables in every possible market across the globe. The CEO added that they launched the Apple Watch Series 5 that has an Always-on Retina Display, with the help of which the users never had to pause work for the task of tapping the display. There are also fresh location features that help the users to better navigate. Cook also talked about the international emergency calling feature that allows the users to make an emergency call directly from the Apple Watch in more than 150 countries, even if the iPhone is not nearby.

While talking about features, Apple has been dedicatedly adding in new features that increases the convenience of the users and also lures the new buyers towards their devices. Apple is now focusing on making more innovations in the segment.
